As is their motto Murray & Burrell Ltd are indeed much more than just House Builders.

 

Murray and Burrell have been trading for over 84 years and this cake was commissioned to celebrate the retirement of Michael Burrell.

 

The cake takes a few light pokes at Mr. Burrell's building career and includes a Tree with a Protection Order (into which an axe has been buried.)  In the branches of the tree a cheeky squirrel makes hand gestures.

 

There's a flickering fire making a merry blaze of paperwork from the local Council and Royal Bank of Scotland and Mr. Burrell himself, dressed in a tasteful Onsie is 'dealing with' a pile of letters from SEPA.

 

We were delighted to be asked to make this cake for Mr. Burrell and we hope he has a very long and happy retirement.
